Share Your Experience

Menses Today is soliciting articles about your first menarche experience. That is the first period you had. We realize we’re asking about a personal experience, so we encourage you to change your name if necessary to maintain your privacy.

Here’s the lowdown. We’re looking for mom’s experience guiding her daughter through this momentous moment, and a young girls experience with her first period. The aim is to encourage other moms with daughters about to start, and young girls on the fringe of menarche, by sharing from personal experience. And, if you’re a writer, or budding writer, you can add this article to your portfolio.

Articles should be 50 to 150 words long. Longer articles are welcome, but must not exceed 700 words. Graphics such as cartoon images and characters are welcome, as long as they are your own creations that you have the right to submit. Photos are also welcome, but remember if you don’t want anyone to know this is your story then don’t send in a picture of yourself to go along with your article. However, when submitting your article you’ll need to sign your real name (which will be kept private), and your fictitious name will appear on the article. But, the article rights will remain with you, meaning you own your intellectual property ;-).
